Sweet 16th Birthday Party Photo Booth Hire in Soho, Central London, March 2012

Bubble Booths photo booth hire were delighted  to be asked to attend a sweet 16th birthday party held at the The Soho gallery in the heart of Soho central London. The Soho Gallery is a great venue for exhibitions, parties and product launches, set in the heart of Soho.  With great public transport links and cabs galore driving past the front door into the small hours of the night, it’s a very easily accessible venue.

Having delivered and set up our portable slim-line photo booth to the 2nd floor gallery we were ready to rock the night away.  Mirage Parties  were organising the birthday party and had done a fantastic job of decorating the rooms. With the low coloured floor lighting and swaths of flowing material covering walls and furniture, the Soho Gallery looked spectacular; the perfect place for a birthday bash.

From the minute the party started at 8.00pm we were busy with our photo booth. The first guests headed straight to our props table which was overflowing with fun hats, feather boas, glasses and wigs, donned some props and dived straight into the photo booth for some fun snaps. After that, there was a steady stream of guests clamouring to use the booth. In fact, we didn’t stop all night long! With over 120 teens attending the party it’s not surprising at all !!

The party was action packed with our FAB photo booth, professional bar flarers making incredible looking drinks, a cool DJ and dance floor, stage dancers and a pro photographer floating around too. The entrance to the gallery on Charing Cross road was suitably stylish too, with a red carpet,  Grecian flame turrets and ‘paparazzi’  photographers hired by the organisers, hovering around ready to snap the guests arriving.

With unlimited prints flowing all night long and a special second set of prints supplied for the birthday girl’s guest book. (giving all her friends a chance to add messages to the pictures in the guest book), the party revellers took full advantage of the superior quality images our booths produce. We love the positive comments form our booth guests,: “great images” “My new Facebook profile pic is sorted”, “sweet” . “can we go again.  Many of the teens jumped in the booth again and again, gathering more great images of themselves and their friends partying the night away.

Winding up at 1.30am, we stepped out into Soho’s streets which were buzzing with Saturday night revellers and St Patrick’s Day crowds.  It had been another great gig for the Bubble Booths team.

Special thanks to Julia and Christian at Mirage.

Wedding Fair at Beales Hotel a contemporary 4 Star Hotel in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Photo Booth Hire.

February was a busy month for Bubble Booths photo booth hire. We were very pleased to be invited to attend a Sunday wedding fair to show off our fabulous photo booths at the stunning contemporary 4 star hotel “The Beales Hotel” in Hatfield Hertfordshire. Beales is the ideal venue for hosting parties, weddings, special celebrations and corporate events. The wedding suits are beautifully designed and will work for any size or style of wedding.

Our classic black slim line photo booth took pride of place just by the entrance of the fair to show off to the prospective brides and grooms, it was a great success. Throughout the day couples jumped in and out of our very simple to use photo booth posing and laughing as they saw their instantly printed out fun images. We had great positive comments about the amazing quality of our prints, how easy our photo booth was to use and the great choice of props included in our massive prop box.  At the end of the day Bubble Booths had 25 prospective weddings to attend, not too bad for a Sunday of photo booth fun.

When the wedding dress catwalk show finished the super models jumped at the chance to pose away in their stunning wedding dresses (supplied by Ann Bridal of Stevenage Hertfordshire), what a gift for Bubble Booths a brilliant double and triple bride photo booth opportunity creating  hilarious images.

Nicola from Lamberts Flower Company based in Welwyn Garden City Hertfordshire couldn’t help herself and jumped into our photo booth with a stunning bunch of blood red roses, what a poser she was too :_0.

Lawyers Know How to Have Fun too! Central London Photo Booth Hire for Lawyers Christmas Party

December the 15th was a very popular date in 2011 for Bubble Booths Photo Booth hire – it’s the date for office Christmas parties and we had several calls requesting booth booking for that date. Law firm Dechert’s, however, had been admirably organised when planning their annual office party and booked Bubble Booths well ahead of the rush.

Jamie’s Wine bar 1 Fleet Place, Holborn Viaduct London, EC4M 7RA was the location for this London lawyers’ Christmas party. The wine bar is located in one of my favourite parts of central London – a great historic area,  a stone’s throw from magnificent St Paul’s Cathedral and impressive Smithfield Meat Market. Jamie’s is a spacious wine bar – the perfect setting for a Christmas party.

Bubble Booths were set up by the bar, so a prime position! The entertainment for the evening was not only our Sleek Photo Booth but included a nail bar, a caricaturist and a DJ. From the minute the party started, right through to the end in the early hours of next morning, the guests made the most of our photo booth, jumping into it in groups of 4-6 people. Our extensive prop box, with its range of wigs,  hats, masks and dressing-up props, came into its own. Our friendly booth butlers are expert at helping partygoers choose the most outrageous and humorous prop combinations for posing in and getting the most out of their photo booth sessions. As the party warmed up and the guests downed cocktails and chasers the images became more and more outrageous. Larger groups of friends gathered around the booth and there was much laughter and excited shouting as they tried to get as many people into the booth as possible!

People were thrilled to have top quality prints customised for the party printed out then and there, to take away with them.  As ever, we had lots of compliments on the amazing quality of our photographic prints, which is always music to our ears.

So, another successful photo booth session, with yet another Christmas party captured for posterity. The Christmas period is very busy for our photo booth hire services, if you need any advice about hiring a photo booth for your next company party or Christmas event please give us a call and don’t forget – plan ahead!  We’re always happy to send out sample prints so that you see for yourself what good quality they are.

Christmas Party Fun in Vauxhall, Photo Booth Hire London

On the 15th of December 2011,  Bubble Booths had the pleasure of being the photo booth attraction at  the Rudolf Place offices’ Christmas party in Miles Street, Vauxhall, SW8, South London.

The party was organised for all the offices in the complex at Rudolfs Place by Nick Perkins and Toni Walmsley of NAP 3. The idea was to get everybody in the offices together to finally put names to faces and to get to know each other.

Those guys at NAP3 really know how to throw a party! NAP3’s office was set up with football tables and karaoke machines at the ready, decorated with Christmas lights and decorations while tables were piled high with party food and lots of booze ready to receive the guests. Bubble Booths were there as a prime party attraction.

The party was attended by a great mixed crowd of people working in the Rudolfs Place complex: interior designers, recruitment agents, web designers, computer system specialists, catering equipment specialists, furniture designers, and air conditioning fitters. It was a great mix of people, some of whom knew each other by  sight but hadn’t had a chance to talk and get to know each other. The great thing about our photo booths is that they very quickly bring any barriers down, as people relax and have a giggle. Our outgoing Bubble Booths butlers are great at getting people to don some silly props and have a go and much fun was had. You could hear shouts of laughter coming from that end of the room. People loved the photo booth experience, from the sleek look of our booth to the high-quality prints, photographic proof that much fun had been had!

Photo Booth Hire in Harpenden Hertfordshire

Bubble Booths photo booth hire had the pleasure of going to Harpenden in Hertfordshire on the 1st December 2011 for a very special birthday party for an eleven-year-old girl’s birthday party. The entertainment photo booth was set up in the family home to provide fun for the birthday girl and her friends. Wow, did they love the prop box! They worked the way through our range of props, donning wigs, hats, glasses and beards. The inflatable microphones and guitars were also used to great effect. Even the family pet cat, an admirably patient beast who adores the girls, got to have his picture taken in the booth!

Fairy light decorations added a touch of magic to the booth’s appearance and the girls’ faces lit up when they saw it. They didn’t need any advice on how to strike poses, flipping into pose mode as soon as the photo booth counted them in.

By the end of the party there were beautiful photo booth prints up all over the walls as the birthday girl’s little sister made it her job to redecorate the house with them! All the girls took their favorite prints away with them while the birthday girl has an album full of pictures of her and her friends having fun to cherish as a souvenir of a very special day. The family were thrilled with how having a Bubble Booths photo booth made the event such fun. “My daughter said that was the best party she’d ever had,” was the feedback we got from the mother who’d hired the booth to make her daughter’s birthday party that extra bit special. We were thrilled to hear that.

The great thing about Bubble Booths photo booth hire is that we can provide themed props to suit your event. We recently took part in a corporate function Victorian evening at St Paul’s Cathedral in central London and went Victorian for the night. To see the images on our Facebook page click here.

The History of the Photo Booth. What year was the photo booth invented?

The story of the automatic photo booth dates back to the early twentieth century and is a fine example of human ingenuity. Photography had developed through the nineteenth century with a series of innovative discoveries and inventions, including Daguerre’s daguerreotype in 1839, Fox Talbot’s negative to positive process in 1841and George Eastman’s  flexible roll film in 1889. The quest for a machine which would automatically take photographs was another stage in this journey.

Anatol Josepho is the man given credit for inventing the first automatic photo booth when he patented  the Photomaton, an automatic photograph machine, in 1925 in America. Originally from Siberia, Josepho had travelled and worked as a photographer in many countries and had become fascinated by the idea of inventing a machine which could take photographs automatically. He immigrated to the United States in order to pursue his dream and set about borrowing substantial amounts of money in order to work on his vision, with the Photomaton – an automatic photo booth –the result of his labours. Josepho’s Photomaton Studio on Broadway was a huge popular success, with people queuing up in order to have their picture taken by this novel photographic invention, with each session costing 25 cents for a strip of eight photos. Such was the Photomaton’s success that Josepho sold the Photomaton booth and the American rights for one million dollars to a group of American businessmen in1927. Automatic photo booths became widely available, found in stores, post offices and stations, often used to provide a cheap sort of photographic identification.

Today’s digital photo entertainment booths, portable enough to be taken into venues from hotels to private homes, are an ingenious reworking of the idea of a photo booth, putting the emphasis firmly on entertainment. At Bubble Booths we pride ourselves on our sleek-looking photo entertainment booth, with its choice of background materials, and our great prop box, filled with hats, masks, sun-glasses, feather boas and other props to make dressing up for the photo booth fun. Thanks to digital photographic technology our customers can enjoy the fun of popping into the booth for a photographic session and then having unlimited high-quality prints printed out promptly during the booth hire period. We like to think that Anatol Josepho, the innovative inventor of the photo boot, would have loved to see this new take on his Photomaton.

Photo Booth Hire London at St Paul’s Cathedral for Harbour and Jones’ Extravaganza

Bubble Booths photo booth hire was thrilled to be part of innovative caterers Harbour & Jones’ Extravaganza event, a seasonal celebration for all their clients. The venue for this very special party was the crypts at St Paul’s Cathedral, which turned out to be a wonderfully atmospheric space in which to hold an event like this on a grand scale. The theme was Victorian so the prop box offering, specially put together for the event, for our photo entertainment booth included Victorian masks, feather boas, top hats, bonnets and monocles.

Harbour and Jones are known for their eye for detail and this event was no exception. As guests arrived at the South Door they were welcomed by one of Harbour & Jones management team, directed towards the cloak room and reception desk, then guided downstairs to the vaulted crypts where the event was based. Those who wanted to fully appreciate the chance to look around the magnificent interior of St Paul’s Cathedral and enjoy the atmosphere were able to take short guided tours.

Those heading downstairs into the crypts were greeted by a charming member of the Harbour and Jones team stationed by Wellington’s tomb and pointed in the right direction, past the tomb of national nautical hero Nelson into the main crypt area where the festivities began! Harbour and Jones, noted for the quality of their food, had really gone to town on the catering – beautifully-decorated tables along the length of the space were groaning with food, from oysters and seafood to British farmhouse cheeses, with hog roast rolls going down very well indeed. An eye-catching centrepiece was a huge ice sculpture of St Paul’s Cathedral, which attracted much appreciative comment. Next to this, arranged on crushed ice, were dainty glass bowls filled with elegant portions of different sweet foams – mango, passion fruit and chocolate – sprinkled with toppings such as raspberry ‘caviar’ to add texture.

Round the corner from the food was the entertainment area, which is where we were with Bubble Booths, complete with our array of Victorian props for people to choose from. As ever, Bubble Booths proved to be a popular attraction, with people queuing up to have their photos taken. Our friendly and helpful booth attendants, smartly turned out in black suits, fitted in a treat and did a great job of suggesting which props to choose, from smart top hats to intriguing masks. People were thrilled with the quality of the prints, with several of the guests returning again and again to have yet another go, with another friend or colleague or wearing different props. It was really heart-warming having the guests thank us and to hear comments like “This is such fun” and “Your booth looks great – so tasteful”. Lots of people talked about booking Bubble Booths for their own events, which is always music to our ears. At the end of the night, the Harbour and Jones team, from chefs and waiters to senior management couldn’t resist having a go in the Bubble Booths photo entertainment booth too. They’d seen how much fun their guests had had using the booth and leaped at the chance to prop up and have their photos taken, which just shows the appeal. We were thrilled with the whole event and very chuffed to have been asked to take part in such a memorable extravaganza at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Photo Booth Hire at St Albans District Chamber Ball 2011 held at Sopwell House Hotel Hertfordshire.

Bubble Booths photo booth hire was delighted to be a sponsor of the St Albans Chamber of Commerce Ball 2011 at Sopwell House Hotel a first-class venue based in the historic city of St Albans Hertfordshire. This ball is a big event for the St Albans Chamber of Commerce and there were around 400 happy partygoers. Set in magnificent grounds, Sopwell House Hotel was once the country home of Lord Mountbatten and now boasts a spa and country club. It’s the perfect venue for balls, weddings, parties and Bar Matzvahs, so we were thrilled to be able to set up our entertainment photo booth hire there. Bubble Booths loved working at Sopwell House Hotel, so do please get in touch if you are holding an event there.

The ballroom was beautifully decorated for the St Albans Chamber of Commerce Ball and after a delicious meal, the guests took to the dance floor. Music was provided by The Slaves who rocked the house through out the ball and the St Albans Chamber members danced the night away!

Bubble Booths photo booth was strategically placed at the entrance to the ballroom giving it a prominent position throughout the event. The Chamber of Commerce members and their guests lost no time jumping in and out of the booth making the best of the wide selection of props (glasses, wigs, hats, and masks) in the prop box. The booth was filled with people having their photographs taken from start to finish. It was great seeing people pass their quality photo booth prints around, showing them off and comparing them. There was much laughter, with many guests raiding the prop box and coming back to see if they could better their friends’ crazy poses. Our booth attendants entered into the party spirit, suggesting hilarious prop combination’s to the guest. We had a lot of compliments on the sleek look of our photo booth and several enquiries about how to book for future parties, so it was a great night for Bubble Booths.

The Fun of Bubble Booths Photo Booth Hire Prints

In these days of digital media, what’s so often missing is a good-old fashioned photographic print – there in your hand, to be stuck on a noticeboard, sent to family and friends or – for the organised among us – put neatly in an album. Nowadays the images we take on digital cameras or mobile phones all too often stay on the screen, very rarely printed out, sometimes sent as email jpegs which stay in the in-box rather than being transformed into good quality prints.

The response we get to Bubble Booths photo booth hire prints when people see them is; “Wow, what fantastic quality prints!” We love hearing that as behind-the-scenes we’ve gone to a lot of trouble to ensure that our booths print out high quality prints. As we explain to our clients, the great thing about having a Bubble Booths entertainment photo booth at your special event – whether it’s a wedding,  a birthday party or an anniversary celebration – is that everyone who uses the booth gets to go away with a lovely photographic print, a wonderful souvenir of that special occasion.

At a party hire in High Barnet in north London the other day, we saw what fun they are for families. Two of the kids at the party were into it immediately, diving into the prop box, then strutting their stuff in the booth and coming up with great prints. Their Dad saw the prints and immediately said “We don’t have a picture of all of us anywhere – let’s do a family photo!”  So there they were, a whole family having a laugh as they took photos of themselves in the booth. They left with a handful of great prints, absolutely thrilled with those pictures of themselves and their children having a great time together.
